What are we donating for?
Many of you surely have some special field of interest, a unique concern or donate especially when disasters take place. If not or you realize that there's more to be done, here are some NGO's I think supporting and/or donating for should be considered:
Global Aid Network
The Global Aid Network is a worldwide humanitarian relief and development organization dedicated to bringing hope and tangible help to the poor and the suffering. GAiN is a strong logistics partner for relief supplies due to their wide scaled distribution network. The organization currently has offices in Germany, Holland, Austria, Latvia, Canada, United States, Australia, South Korea and - since 18th of April - Spain.
The Linux Foundation is a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation. It's purposes includes promoting, protecting, and standardizing Linux and open source software.
Control Arms sees itself as a global civil society alliance campaigning for a "bulletproof" Arms Trade Treaty. An Arms Trade Treaty from their perspective means an international legally-binding agreement that will stop transfers of arms and ammunitions that fuel conflict, poverty and serious violations of human rights and international humanitarian law.
